What drives the work
A fascination with being human.
Her curiosity lives in the questions people tend to avoid: why we desire what we desire, how power operates inside relationships, how shame shapes the way we see ourselves, and what honest communication asks of us.
Communication, honesty, respect and trust sit at the centre of her work. As an educator, she approaches BDSM as a space where consent, responsibility, self-awareness and communication become especially visible. She writes and teaches for adults who want clear, practical language and room to ask questions without judgement.
Through the Beyond Vanilla series and her independent books, Ms Hyde explores complex subjects in language readers can examine and use in their own lives. Her essays extend that curiosity into relationships, identity, culture and the strange habits people accept as normal.
Her voice has room for seriousness and sharp humour. A difficult subject can invite careful thought, a raised eyebrow and a good laugh—sometimes in the same paragraph.
One curiosity · several forms
The work changes shape. The questions remain.
Education, fiction and satire each offer a different way to examine desire, vulnerability, power and the complicated business of being human.

The Victorian Naturalist
Human behaviour, observed sideways.
A satirical field guide to modern courtship, social rituals and the absurdities people politely call normal. The same curiosity, with a more theatrical hat.
